Power of a Woman

Dear woman, be crazy enough to know you can have anything you want in life!

Right now. The present is female. Today. This moment. The days of keeping quiet are gone...
The days of staying in a man's shadow are done... The days of women not supporting each other are history, We are the revolution we've been waiting for.

Today is a celebration and a new chapter, women all over the world using their voice to advocate for themselves and on behalf of women who are unable to use theirs. Know that the world is listening and you are heard.

Sisters, we are powerful beyond measure. I hope today we recognize and appreciate our worth and the worth of the women around us. I wish today, we could put an end to settling for less than we deserve. I hope we don't take lightly when we are underappreciated or over-looked and instead we choose to leave. I hope we wish the best for one another regardless of how we were treated because the biggest lesson I've learned is you can't end hate with hate. So, love. What you may be going through isn't anyone's fault. Own your power, your perspective, and your story.

Stop selling yourself short, you are not the kind of woman who settles for good enough or second best. Please take pride in your value today and every day after by making choices that help you reach for more. If we want more for the future, we need to empower each other to express ourselves freely and without judgment. Let's set an example for ourselves and inspire others to create their own identity. Don't let others make you into who they want you to be, and don’t don’t compare yourself to anyone else. You are unique, there is only one you and you can have whatever story you want if you just believe in yourself.

It should go without saying, your body is yours! How you choose to use it, whom you choose to use it with and what you dress it in, is entirely up to you. Your clothes don't determine your consent, the only thing that does is the word "YES". our bodies are our temples and I wholeheartedly believe that we are in charge of our bodies and our rights are our choices.

Being a dancer all my life and using my body as an artistic expression has been one of the most liberating and empowering aspects of my life, (second to using my voice). Expressing my mood, emotions, and story in dance allowed me to take back the power that some negative events in my life had seemingly broken.

I hope this day inspires a movement of action, that's why I am listing the actions I want to see:

Tell the women in your life that you love them.
